Many people have asked if they can contribute via credit/debit card. Any donation will help, and all will be acknowledged on our Honor Roll.
Please call Pottstown Parks & Rec at 610-970-6608 and they will accept your payment over the phone. That was easy!

Please check out the 5K run page for a listing of the CORPORATE Sponsors. Please remember that they are helping the entire event, and for the Hill School for providing the staging area.
A long time ago, the committee wanted to honor the Little League’s All-Star game players with official July 4th caps. In 1985, the committee started selling them to the public. Over the years they have become a treasured collectible. The original price of $5.00 is still kept, to allow the most a chance to help the committee raise funds. They are purchased directly from the manufacturer to maximize the profit, just like Wal-Mart. You may purchase at Memorial Park on Friday, July 2, or along the parade route on Saturday, July 3. The chances of getting one of these after the parade is slim. Here is this years’ edition:
Standings announced Monday evening are Pottsgrove in the lead, followed by OJR, Pottstown, and St. Pius X. Vote early, vote often for your favorite Queen!
The Nineteenth Annual Rotary Club of Pottstown Duck Race will be Saturday, July 3, 2010. Through this project, over $260,000.00 has been raised and contributed to non-profits in the Pottstown area, including this celebration and the Relay For Life, Habitat for Humanity and American Cancer Society.
Each rubber duck is $5, and the First Prize is $1,000.00 cash, second prize is 40″ HDTV, valued at $ 1,000.00.
Ducks can be purchased at the Park, or call Parks & Rec 610-970-6608
Dozens of smaller prizes have been donated by area businesses, or shall we call them corporate sponsors.
The Pottstown Area Seniors Center will be raffling off a car. Click their link on the side for more info.
Kendra Barkasi, the Homecoming Queen from Pottstown High School, has scheduled a series of fundraisers. All proceeds go for her Penny a Vote campaign for July 4th Homecoming Queen.
Pottstown Borough Council Wednesday night discussed billing the committee an additional $5,000.00 for police overtime.
We appreciate the heads up from the Mercury, (click for the story) and look forward to a solution that will maintain the security of the event, help the Borough budget, and be sustainable given the committee’s fundraising history. Latest story is here.
UPDATE: The City Council of Philadelphia voted to “emancipate” it’s parade committees from police bills. For details visit:

Three donations totaling $55.00 have been received by the committee. Our goal is $35,000 to stay solvent. Please check the Honor Roll page for the donors’ names and how to contribute.
