Queen Contest

Our Homecoming Queen contest has been a Pottstown tradition for decades.  The Homecoming Queens from Pottstown, Pottsgrove, Owen J. Roberts, and St. Pius X High Schools compete for this tiara.

Voting is done on a “Penny A Vote” basis, with collection cans at area businesses, and individual fundraisers.

Pottsgrove High School Homecoming Queen Amanda Walsh is now also the Pottstown Fourth of July Queen.

Amanda, who is attending West Chester University, was chosen as the result of raising more money than her competitors, Maddie Murphy from Owen J. Roberts High School and Sierra Lee from Pottstown High School. Look for them all in Thursday’s Fourth of July Parade, which begins at 10:15 a.m.

Together, the three raised $1,354 to help offset the costs of the parade. Walsh raised $753.

Contributions can be made to Independence Day Ltd., P.O. Box 199, Pottstown, PA 19464
